of the Maltese entry for the ‘Eurovision Song

Contest’.

MALTA JAZZ FESTIVAL                                                               3^rd weekend of July

Three nights of jazz played by world

renowned players within the unique

setting of Grand Harbour, Valletta.

 

VICTORY DAY                                                                             7^th and 8^th September

The commemoration of victory celebrations in

565 and 1943 with a regatta at

Grand Harbour, Valletta.

 

INDEPENDENCE CONCERT                                                          September

Commemorating Malta’s acquisition of

Independence on the 21^st September, 1964.  

The concert will be preceded by Pontifical High

Mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta.

 

JUNIOR SONG FOR EUROPE                                                       September

A festival of songs written by under 15 year

-olds leading to the selection of a Maltese song

which will represent Malta in the ‘Junior

Eurovision Song Contest’.

 

REPUBLIC DAY                                                                           13^th December

Commemoration of Malta becoming a

Republic, in Valletta.

 

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES                                                             December

Popular celebrations of the birth of Christ
